THE STUDIO BEHIND THE BRUSH
One pair
at a time.
Reiyu is a small studio that paints original artwork onto leather sneakers by hand. No prints, no transfers, no factory line — a brush, a blank pair and the world you asked for.
How it started
Reiyu began in 2026 in Warsaw, when [Founder name] painted a favourite character onto a worn pair of white leather sneakers and could not stop there. Friends asked for their own. Then strangers did. The studio still works the same way it did then — one artist, one pair at a time.
The name comes from the idea that the things you love should be visible. Anime, film, games, comics, motorsport: the stories that shaped you are worth more than a poster on a wall.
How a pair is made
Every pair starts as a blank white leather sneaker. The artwork is drawn on by hand, painted in layers with leather-specific paints, then sealed with a flexible protective finish so it moves and creases with the shoe instead of cracking.
Because each pair is painted individually, no two are identical. Small differences in line weight and shading are not flaws — they are the evidence that a person made it. If you want a pair indistinguishable from the photograph, hand-painted work is not the right medium.
Made to order
Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you order a design from the collection, that pair is painted for you, which takes roughly 5-10 business days. A fully custom piece takes longer, because the artwork is designed with you first. See the shipping policy for current timings.
